RFBYC is one of WA's leading centres of sailing development. The Club embraces sailing from International Optimist dinghies through to IRC ocean racing.

As part of its sailing development programme, RFBYC has supported the adoption of the BW8 keelboat for training sailors in Youth Keelboat Sailing and Match Racing. The Club is very pleased to have Zhik as the squad sponsor.

The RFBYC Youth Squad

The RFBYC Youth Squad has been set up to provide the opportunity for talented young sailors to break into the world of keelboat sailing. Sailors can enter the squad with limited experience - as passion and commitment are the key qualifications required.

The programme will draw together a team of WA sailors and provide them with the opportunity to compete in all aspects of keelboat racing including inshore, offshore, match and team racing disciplines.

The programme is designed to provide top level training, coaching and grants to some of RFBYC's best up-and-coming keelboat sailors.

The RFBYC Youth Squad is open to all sailors between the ages of 16 -25 years.
