Volunteer Recognition

There are a variety of ways that RFBYC acknowledges its volunteers, here are just a few.

Yachting WA Awards - Volunteer of the Year

Each year, RFBYC nominates an individual who has given exemplary service to the club, yachting and/or boating in areas including administration, promotion, instructing, officiating, coaching, etc in a volunteer capacity. This contribution must be of at least 5 years duration.

The selection panel takes into consideration matters such as sportsmanship, willingness to learn, readiness to volunteer at various locations, support for class associations, dedication, conduct, support of sailors, coaches, officials and their club.

Who knows, one day this could be you!

Volunteer Function

Held every year in September, this function brings together all our volunteers at the one time to thank them for assistance of our regular and special events held throughout the preceding season.  This Function can take the form of a breakfast or cocktail party and provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to share their stories and enjoy the camaraderie amongst fellow volunteers.  Volunteers are sent an invitation to attend and RSVPs are essential.

Volunteers Shirts

Once established as a regular, you will be supplied with a Race Management Team  shirt which bears the RFBYC logo identifying you as one of our loyal and experienced volunteers.

Volunteer Bios

Regular volunteers are invited to supply their history of volunteering at the Club.  This may be used to acknowledge the services provided to the club within its publications and also used to promote future volunteering to new members of  the Club.
