70th Bunbury and Return Ocean Race
Race Start - Friday evening 23 February 2018
The 170 nautical mile race starts in Fremantle and takes the fleet south to Koombana Bay . They complete a short lap of the bay along the Bunbury foreshore before turning north for the finish off South Mole in Fremantle. All yachts carry tracking devices which allows anyone to watch the race online or on their mobile device. In partnership with Koombana Bay Sailing Club, the race aims to connect with the local community in Bunbury to showcase the sport of sailing.

COCKTAIL PARTY: Platinum Jubilee Celebrations for the 70th Bunbury and Return Ocean Race were held on Saturday 17 February at RFBYC. History display on the main wharf and in the Clubhouse. Entry has closed, please get in touch with the Offshore Administrator at RFBYC. Teams who entered by the early bird date are in the draw to WIN a personal AIS unit, valued at $399. All crew names go in to the draw.
(In line with ORWA supporting the use of personal AIS recovery units, a Kannard Marine Safelink R10 is being offered as an early bird lucky prize. The unit is designed to be fitted to a lifejacket. It is a personal AIS search and rescue locating device, it enables those on board a vessel with an AIS chart plotter to quickly and efficiently locate and retrieve a missing crew member.) |

2017 RACE
The 69th Bunbury and Return Ocean Race began on Friday 20 January at 6pm and was contested by 20 yachts. RFBYC would like to thank race partners, Koombana Bay Sailing Club in Bunbury for their assistance with the race again and the communications team at Southern Race Control.
