2016 RACE

The 68th Bunbury and Return Ocean Race began on Friday 29 January  at 6pm and was contested by 26 yachts. RFBYC would like to thank race partners, Koombana Bay Sailing Club in Bunbury for their assistance with the race again and the communications team at Southern Race Control.

"A short leg towards the shore and then the fleet set spinnakers and turned west, towards the gorgeous sunset, it had to be one of the most beautiful offshore starts ever. With a cyclone in the north of the state, the weather was unusual for the middle of summer. It set the stage for a likely race record, playing out perfectly for the front runners over the 170nm course to Bunbury and back again."
