2017 Rottnest Festival of Sail
Now in its seventh year, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club is pleased to announce the 2017 Rottnest Festival of Sail to be held on Saturday 01 and Sunday 02 April
Funds raised from the event go to our event partner the Rottnest Foundation, to support their efforts in ‘Conserving the essence of Rottnest’. In keeping with the theme of supporting the environment, the annual Algal Bloom Race returns to Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club for 2017 and the next two years and the Club has chosen to include it in the Rottnest Festival of Sail.
Saturday 01 April - start area off Port Beach, Fremantle. Finsh in Thomson Bay, Rottnest Island.
- 1025 Category 6 Transit Race / Algal Bloom Race for Division One
- 1030 Modified Category 7 (Couta Boats) and Cat 6 Transit Race / Algal Bloom Race for Division Two
- 1800 Social - non-ticketed function at Hotel Rottnest (includes welcome and presentation of fun prizes).
Sunday 02 April - From Thomson Bay, around the island to starboard.
- From 0955 Cruise in Company
Wednesday 05 April - Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club
- 1800 Rottnest Foundation Twilight
- 1930 Rottnest Foundation Presentation Ceremony
Event entry inlcludes membership of the Rottnest Foundation and a mooring in Thomson Bay for the evening of Saturday 01 April. Goodie bags to be collected from RFBYC from 10am on Thursday 30 March.

A late ferry will run on Saturday evening, Rottest Express service at 4:30pm, 5pm and also 5:55pm. |
